Wayne Rabalais
Wayne had worked in federal funds acquisition and management in the public sector from 1973 to 1976. Between 1976 and 1979, he worked as a private loan and grants consultant in the Lafayette area.
His wife Elaine and he started Rabalais Business Consulting in September 1979 through the purchase of a business consulting franchise.
Knowing about the impact and depth of small businesses in our economy, he was drawn to this franchise as a way to help small businesses in our area with tax, accounting, and business consulting problems. Two or their first clients from 1979 are still clients today.
They love to work with the “mom and pop” business owners to try to help them figure out how to pay less taxes and improve their profit. They love helping their clients deal with the paperwork so that the business owners can become more efficient and comfortable with their small business. Plus they get to know the persons behind the business; they have met many fascinating people that way. Their clients usually become their friends.
Early on, they decided to not have lots and lots of clients as a way to give personal, customized service. Because of that philosophy, the large majority of their clients have been with them for 15+ years.
In 1987 Wayne became a licensed insurance agent. Presently Wayne is one of two Louisiana agents associated with (Fran)Tarkenton Financial Services, offering not only life insurance products, but unique retirement products. In 2010, he was named to the top 25 agents of Tarkenton Financial Services. Wayne has also been named several times to the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT)
In 2008 Wayne and Elaine decided to build their own building on Rue Louis XIV, moving in 2009. Now they have the room to offer more services to their clients, and expand their staff.
Wayne is a World War II fanatic, with many pieces of memorabilia of that era in his office. New Orleans is Wayne and Elaine’s favorite city. When travelling, Wayne and Elaine can usually be found in either the Woodland, Texas, or Columbia, South Carolina; where the grandkids (and their daughters’ family) reside.
Wayne is from Moreauville, La. (Avoyelles Parish), while Elaine is from Bunkie, La. Both attended USL in 1968, which is where they met. They have been married since 1972. After a brief stint in Thibodaux and Houma, they have lived in Lafayette for over 40 years.
Wayne is on the Louisiana Leadership board of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). And as philanthropic gesture, free tax return services are offered to military, firemen, and law enforcement personnel.
Cheryle Broussard Johnson
Cheryle Broussard Johnson has been associated with Rabalais Business Consulting since 1996. Her duties include monthly and quarterly client accounting, and problem resolution. She is from Loreauville, La. and has lived in Lafayette, La. for 38 years. Cheryle graduated from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL) with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. She has been married to her husband, Wayne, for 39 years and they have three children, and three grandchildren.
Corrine Iden
Corrine is the newest member of our team. Corrine, her husband, and two children live in Youngsville. She has over 12 years' of accounting experience with a major Lafayette CPA firm, dealing directly with a variety of business clients. Corrine has jumped right in to our firm's work load, helping with personal and business tax preparation, Quickbooks consulting, and general accounting and tax problem solving. Corrine is a graduate of Acadiana High School, South Louisiana Community College, and attended ULL.
